Very nice collectibles of a U-boat of the Kriegsmarine.

Dimensions: 10 x 7 cm

U 593 was a type VII C boat and was put into service on 23 October 1941 under Kptlt. Gerd Kelbing. On 16 patrols it sunk nine merchant ships with 38,290 GRT and three warships with 2,902 GRT.

U 593 passed on 10./11. October 1942 the Strait of Gibraltar. On December 13, 1943, the boat was damaged by depth charges. Commander Kelbing surface the boat, evacuate and then sink. All crew members survived.
