A wonderful collector's item in very good condition.
A wonderful photo that evokes emotions! It shows First Lieutenant Karl-Heinrich Harlfinger after returning from a patrol in 1943. Harlfinger was later promoted to Captain Lieutenant.
Labeled on the reverse and with adhesive residues. A newer caption, + fiancé, can not be confirmed.
Dimensions: 8,7 x 6,2 cm
U 269 was launched on 24 June 1942 and was commissioned on 19 August 1942. During several operations, no subsidence or damage could be achieved. Outgoing from Guernsey, the boat was sunk on June 25, 1944 southeast of Torquay in the channel by the HMS Bickerton with depth charges. There were 13 dead.
A very nice piece of contemporary history
