U 103 was a Type IX B boat. Commissioning on July 5, 1940 under Corvette Captain Schütze (Knight's Cross with Oak Leaves). On eleven enemy voyages it sank 43 ships with 237595 GRT. Decommissioned in March 1944, then stationary training boat and used as a generator. Destroyed on 15 April 1945 by bombing. On May 3, 1945 even blown up.
