Extreme rare Kriegsmarine observer chronometer A. Lange & sons with U-Boat protective box from 2nd World War
 

Together with the corresponding protective case for U-Boats, this is a very rare militaria collector's item from the Kriegsmarine

Excellent, almost new condition with all engravings! A. Lange & Söhne observation chronometer, caliber 48 with "up + down" display of the power reserve up to 35 hours. Temperature-regulated in 6 positions. Later war production in part silver / stainless steel. completed by Andreas Huber, Munich. Serial number 205342, Kriegsmarine registration M 12106. See K. Knirim "Military watches" on page 225. Works of course. These clocks were only allowed to show a deviation of less than one second within 24 hours.

Diameter without crown: approx. 6 cm

With the corresponding original Kriegsmarine protective case for U-Boats! The clock was attached to the tower in this protective wooden box. See K. Knirim "Military watches" on page 230. According to instruction no. 2456, the clocks were not allowed to be removed from the protective cases. Celluloid is placed above the clock to mark the time and position. Last entry August 1943, 12:40 p.m. Unfortunately, the position is illegible, otherwise the U-Boat might be identified.
