Very nice Kriegsmarine cap emblem from U 446.

Enamelled metal. Very good condition. The needle is ribbed in the middle part. Maling, shark and gallows. From the estate of Commander Oberleutnant zur See Hellmuth-Bert Richard.

U-446 was put into service on 20.06.1942 and on the 21.09.1942 he was sunk during the training by an acoustic mine in the mining area "Privat II" (Gdansk Bay, before Kallberg). There were 23 dead, including the commander.
