The commander of U 1013 should come from the Brocken / Harz.

U 1013 was a type VII C / 41 boat and was put into service on 19.01.1944. On 17.03.1944 it sunk during a test drive after a collision with U 286. U 1024 was a VII C / 41 which was put into service on 28.06.1944. After several conversions and trials U 1024 undertook only an enemy patrol on which a ship sunk (7176 BRT) and one was damaged (7200 GRT). After heavy damage and hijacking it sank on 13.04.1945 in tow of a British warship
