Description

Very rare and beautiful compass stand of the Kriegsmarine with compass and directional finder from 2nd World War.

A real museum piece of the Kriegsmarine. All parts made by C. Plath, Hamburg.

Very good overall condition. Damage to the paintwork due to age. The bonnet has a crack at the back, paint damage and minor dents. The handles have probably been repainted. Glass pane is in good condition.

Peildiopter with the number 802, C. Plath. Visibility somewhat milky, mirror tarnished at the edge.

Large spherical compass with eagle and Kriegsmarine acceptance M 527, Plath serial number 1713. Without air bubble. Compass rose with discolouration due to age. No scratches or cracks in the glass.

The stand in very good condition. All flaps and the slider for the illumination work perfectly. Two brackets on the right are missing. I would put the rear left one to the front. The lighting has been renewed. Function not tested. The thread of one ball has to be recut.

With the very rare compass ring made of solid brass.
