Description

Kriegsmarine ship's clock Kieninger & Obergfell from the 2nd World War.

Very well preserved ship's clock with scoring on the back.

Case and movement with matching numbers (7080). Dial with complete eagle. A small dent on the case. Beautiful patina. Closes tightly. With original key. The brackets are intact. On the back with embossed drive number and name scratch. The first name is illegible, the second is Walter. The clock has been in the family since the end of the war. Runs beautifully.

There is a family tradition about the engraved names. They are said to be two comrades of the owner of the clock who were on their way to Grichenland the night before embarkation and did not return home. The next day they were found dead in a ditch. Their names were carved into the clock as a memorial.
