Original cap / tower badge U 532 in good condition.

Original U-Boat cap badges are hard to find. This shows the Hamburg water carrier Hummel. On the back is the imprint of the manufacturer. Hofstatter, Bonn. The company was founded in 1818 and produces with other names until today also medals and decorations. The needle is fluted for a better grip.

U 532 was a type IX C / 40 boat. It was put into service on 11 November 1942 under the command of Ottoheinrich Junker. It carried out four enemy raids in the North Atlantic and the Indian Ocean, with eight ships sunk and two damaged. U 532 capitulated on May 10, 1945 in the Scottish Loch Eribull. From there it was first towed to Liverpool and sunk on December 9.
