Superbly preserved piece of a 1. U-flotilla cap badge. Original piece from French production. Enamelled metal. The needle is ribbed in the middle part for a better hold.

The 1st U-Flotilla was founded on 22 September 1935. The first Flottilenchef was Fregattenkapitän Karl Doenitz. She was stationed in Kiel. In June 1941 she was transferred to Brest.
